UK Visitor Visa for Indians

The UK Standard Visitor Visa allows Indian passport holders to visit England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland for up to 6 months. The UK is not part of the Schengen area, so a separate visa is required. This is one of the harder visas to get — financial and employment documentation must be strong.

Visa Fee

The UK Standard Visitor Visa costs £115 (approximately ₹12,000). This is non-refundable even if your application is rejected. The fee is paid online when submitting your application.

Required Documents

Bank Balance Required

UK UKVI (UK Visa & Immigration) does not specify a minimum — but in practice, you should show:

• 1At least ₹3–5 lakh maintained consistently over 6 months
• 2Income should comfortably cover your trip expenses
• 3Avoid large unexplained cash deposits before applying
• 4Fixed deposits or other assets strengthen the application

Processing Time

Standard processing is 3 weeks (15 working days). Priority processing is available for an additional fee (~£250) and takes 5 working days. Super Priority processing (£800) gives a decision within 1 working day. Apply well in advance — UK visa rejection rates from India are around 10–15%.
