Overview

Indian passport holders need a visitor visa (subclass 600) to travel to Australia, which is issued for short-term tourism, business, or family visits. The visa is electronically linked to the passport number and does not require a physical stamp. The stay duration varies, but typically, it's 3-6 months. Recent rules require sufficient funds to support yourself while in Australia and proof of temporary stay.

Application Process

   Apply for the visitor visa (subclass 600) online through the Australian immigration authorities' website. Provide correct information and double-check the details.

   Pay the application fee

   Pay the application fee of USD 124 (~₹10,400) using a valid payment method.

   Wait for processing

   Wait for the application to be processed, which may take around 3-4 weeks. You can check the status of your application online.

   Receive e-visa

   Once your application is approved, you will receive an e-visa PDF via mail. Print a copy and save a digital version for easy access.
