Canada Visa Guide

Overview

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) allows Indian citizens to visit Canada for tourism, visiting family/friends, or short business trips. Applications are submitted online through IRCC.

Required Documents

• 1Valid Indian passport (minimum 6 months validity)
• 2Completed online application form (IMM 5257)
• 3Recent passport-size photograph
• 4Proof of funds — bank statements (last 6 months, minimum ₹3–5 lakh)
• 5Income Tax Returns – last 3 years
• 6Employment proof — offer letter / salary slips / business registration
• 7Leave approval letter from employer
• 8Travel itinerary and accommodation proof
• 9Return flight ticket
• 10Invitation letter (if visiting family/friends)
• 11Travel insurance (recommended)
• 12Previous visa copies (if any)

Application Process

1. 1

   Create IRCC Account

   Register on the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) online portal.

   Fill Application Form

   Complete IMM 5257 online. Answer all questions carefully and honestly.

   Pay Visa Fee

   Pay CAD 100 online via credit/debit card. Keep the receipt.

   Upload Documents

   Upload all scanned documents in PDF format. Ensure each file is clear and legible.

5. 5

   Submit Biometrics

   Book and attend a biometrics appointment at a VAC (Visa Application Centre) in India.

6. 6

   Wait for Decision

   Processing typically takes 2–8 weeks. Check status on IRCC portal.
