Overview

Indian citizens require a visa to visit China. Apply at the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, or Chennai. No e-Visa available for Indians — in-person submission is required. China offers visa-free transit for up to 144 hours at select airports.

Application Process

Fill Application Form Online
Go to in.visaforchina.org, create account, fill visa application form, and download the completed form.

Book CVASC Appointment
Book an appointment at the nearest Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai).

Prepare All Documents
Gather passport, photos, flight/hotel booking, bank statement, employment proof, and travel itinerary.

Submit at CVASC
Visit the CVASC on your appointment date with all original documents + photocopies. Biometrics may be required.

Pay Visa Fee
Pay visa fee at the centre (₹4,800–6,200 for single entry). Keep payment receipt.

Collect Passport
Collect your passport with China visa in 4–5 working days, or opt for courier delivery.

✓No e-Visa for Indians — physical submission at CVASC is mandatory
✓Book CVASC appointment early — slots fill up fast, especially in peak travel season
✓Keep a comprehensive day-by-day travel itinerary ready — officers check this carefully
✓Hotel bookings must be confirmed (not just a quote)
✓Minimum bank balance of ₹1 lakh recommended; show steady income proof
✓144-hour visa-free transit is available at Beijing, Shanghai, and other major airports
✓VPN is required in China — download before travel (Google, WhatsApp, Instagram are blocked)
