Overview

Indians must obtain an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before or on arrival in Sri Lanka. The process is quick and mostly online. Sri Lanka offers ancient temples, beaches, wildlife safaris, and tea plantations — very popular with South Indians.

Application Process

    Receive ETA

    Approved ETA arrives by email. Print it or save a digital copy.

    Travel to Sri Lanka

    Present ETA approval and passport at Colombo Bandaranaike Airport immigration.

Tips for Approval

  • Apply for ETA before travelling — it is quick and easy
  • Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka ferry (Nagapattinam–Kankesanthurai) is available
  • Must-visit: Sigiriya Rock, Ella, Kandy, Mirissa Beach, Yala National Park
  • Sri Lanka is very affordable — great value for Indian tourists
  • Best time: December–April for west and south coast beaches
