Overview

Indians get visa-free entry to Thailand for up to 60 days under the Visa Exemption Scheme โ€” no visa needed for tourism. However, since 1 May 2025, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is MANDATORY for all travelers and must be submitted online before arrival (free of cost). For longer stays or non-tourism purposes, apply for the appropriate visa at the Thai Embassy or via thaievisa.go.th. Stays can be extended by 30 days at a local Thai Immigration office (fee: 1,900 THB).

Required Documents

  • 1Valid Indian passport (minimum 6 months validity beyond travel date)
  • 2Confirmed return flight tickets (and arrival flight number for TDAC)
  • 3Hotel booking confirmation / accommodation proof (with city name)
  • 4Bank statement โ€“ last 3 months (recommended balance ~โ‚น50,000)
  • 5Travel itinerary
  • 6Proof of employment / business (leave letter, salary slip, ITR)
  • 7Recent passport-size photographs (4ร—6 cm, white background) โ€” only if applying for Tourist Visa (TR)
  • 8Travel insurance (recommended, not mandatory)

Application Process

  1. 1

    Check Entry Type

Indians get 60 days visa-free on arrival โ€” no visa needed for trips up to 60 days. For longer stays, apply for Tourist Visa (TR) via thaievisa.go.th.

  2. 2

    Fill TDAC (Mandatory)

Fill the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours before your flight. This is compulsory for all travelers โ€” carry the confirmation QR code to the airport.

  3. 3

    Apply Tourist Visa (if needed)

If staying beyond 60 days, apply online at thaievisa.go.th โ€” select Tourist Visa (TR), upload documents, and pay 1,000 THB fee.

  4. 4

    Prepare Documents

Keep passport, return ticket, hotel booking, and bank statement ready. Immigration officers may ask to see proof of funds (20,000 THB per person / 40,000 THB per family).

  5. 5

    Arrive in Thailand

At immigration, show your TDAC QR code, passport, and visa (if applicable). Keep hotel booking and return ticket handy.

Tips for Approval

  • โœ“TDAC is MANDATORY โ€” submit online at tdac.immigration.go.th before arrival. Failure may cause immigration delays or denied entry.
