Thailand Visa Guide

Overview

Indians can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days (Visa Exemption) — no visa required for tourism. For stays beyond 60 days or other purposes, apply for a Tourist Visa (TR) at the Thai Embassy or via the Thailand e-Visa portal (thaievisa.go.th). Thailand is one of the most visited destinations by Indians.

Required Documents

Application Process

1. 1

   Check Entry Type

   Indians get 60 days visa-free on arrival — no visa needed for trips up to 60 days. For longer stays, apply for Tourist Visa (TR) via thaievisa.go.th.

2. 2

   Fill TDAC (Mandatory)

   Fill the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours before your flight. This is compulsory for all travelers — carry the confirmation QR code to the airport.

3. 3

   Apply Tourist Visa (if needed)

   If staying beyond 60 days, apply online at thaievisa.go.th — select Tourist Visa (TR), upload documents, and pay 1,000 THB fee.

4. 4

   Prepare Documents

   Keep passport, return ticket, hotel booking, and bank statement ready. Immigration officers may ask to see proof of funds (20,000 THB per person / 40,000 THB per family).

5. 5

   Arrive in Thailand

   At immigration, show your TDAC QR code, passport, and visa (if applicable). Keep hotel booking and return ticket handy.
